Draw Nigh To God
James 4:8
"Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you"
God graciously waits for us to draw near to Him. He sees those who would draw near and comes to meet them. The believer only has to turn his gaze God ward and the Lord will be there.
In Isaiah 58:9 we see the Lord telling His people that when they call to Him He will answer, for He will say, " Here I Am." Its as if He is saying, "What have you to say to Me? What can I do for you? I am waiting to bless you. God is near to forgive, to comfort, to bless, to quicken, and to deliver. Lets see to it that our aim is to get near to God.
How might I get near to God? Tonight I may give up watching my favorite television show and spend that time with my Lord. I may rise early while the city sleeps and seek God. If we will continue to come near to God He will come ever nearer and yet nearer granting us more fuller and joyful fellowship.
